Lion Moeca precious medal

Lion Moeca precious medal

18 kt yellow gold medal, 2.56 grams, surrounded by pure diamonds, diameter 1.7 cm – History: in Venetian the word moeca has two meanings linked to tradition: it is associated both with the effigy of the winged lion of Saint Mark, symbol of the city , which rises from the waters (el leon in moeca), and to the local crab (common riparian crab Carcinus Mediterraneus) in the moulting phase, also called fried soft crabs (fried moeche), this delicacy is also defined as the Venetian nugget. The Venetian lion Moeca therefore takes this name because depicted with its wings spread it looks like a Moeca crab. Price on request – Sometimes we publish jewels on the site that are only available to order; often photos and details of the jewels you see are published as a historical reference of our 50 years and more of activity for your future orders.
