18 kt yellow gold earrings with Burmese rubies (also with other stones on order) diamonds on orbits, these earrings are handmade with the cuttlefish bone fusion technique, an ancient method dating back to at least the 6th century, absolutely natural and sustainable ( and bloodless for the cuttlefish) the model of the jewel to be reproduced in precious metal is pressed or engraved directly into the spongy and soft side of the two parts of the cuttlefish bone. The two parts of bone are made to fit together perfectly and tied together, then a funnel-shaped canal is dug. The molten metal, thrown into them, thus takes on the shape previously impressed. The result is a jewel with the characteristic striations left by the cuttlefish bone, some imperfections are sometimes left on purpose to give the ring the appearance of an ancient object and in any case it will always be an unrepeatable object as the bone mold is disposable, it will burn and can no longer be replicated.
