The Moretto you see on this page, which you can obviously see and try on in our shop in Venice, is in pure 24 kt gold. Usually in goldsmith’s art, gold is used in 18 kt alloys, the right combination of malleability and hardness that allows the creation of wonderful creations, but… for this type of jewel we have chosen 24 kt gold; the same title used in ancient times in the mint of the Serenissima to mint coins such as Zecchini and Oselle or even today in India for fine jewellery. In spite of the greater difficulty in working the “magic” colour of 24 kt gold will never be the same as that of 18 kt gold.
