This ring depicts Two-faced Janus. Janus is a Roman-Italic deity, the most ancient of the national Gods, the Di indigetes, also invoked together with Iuppiter. God of beginnings, material and immaterial, God of the morning, one of the most ancient important deities of Roman, Latin and Italic religion. He is depicted with two faces, the God can look at the future and the past but also because, being the God of the door, he can look both inside and outside.
